Washington, D.C. — WestExec Advisors announced today that General Kenneth Frank McKenzie, Jr., USMC (Ret.), former commander of U.S. Central Command, and General James Hecker, USAF (Ret.), former commander of U.S. Air Forces Europe, have joined the firm as Principals, bringing decades of operational leadership and strategic experience to bear for the firm’s clients.

The appointments of General McKenzie and General Hecker further strengthen WestExec’s deep bench of former senior national security and policy leaders to provide best in class advice to clients on global security topics as well as aerospace & defense technologies, and leverage an unrivaled network to shape strategies for mitigating risk while unlocking new avenues for commercial growth.

General McKenzie served as Commander of U.S. CENTCOM from 2019 to 2022 where he led U.S. military operations and security cooperation efforts across the Middle East and Central and South Asia. Frank has commanded at every level, including the platoon, battalion, and component levels and previously served as Director of the Chairman’s New Administration Transition Team, Director of Strategic Plans and Policy (J-5) for the Joint Staff, and Director of the Joint Staff. During his remarkable 42-year career in the Marine Corps, Frank oversaw complex military campaigns, crisis response operations, and strategic deterrence efforts involving Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and the broader Gulf region.

General Hecker most recently served as Commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe–Air Forces Africa and as Commander of NATO Allied Air Command. During his distinguished 36-year military career, Jim commanded eight times across various levels and was responsible for modernizing NATO airpower for the 21st century by integrating new members, pioneering tactics, and improving readiness. He adopted cost-effective technologies and ensured timely delivery of military aid, strengthening defense, and supporting allied security.

“At a time of greater geopolitical instability and an evolving focus of defense technology away from traditional hardware toward disruptive next-generation capabilities, WestExec is uniquely positioned to help companies and investors navigate the increasingly regionalized security landscape and national security technology arena — especially by helping private capital identify and qualitatively diligence specific opportunities,” said Nitin Chadda, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of WestExec Advisors. “The addition of Generals McKenzie and Hecker enhances our ability to provide clients with ongoing experience-based judgment on regional security and defense capabilities as well as the strategic trends driving the future of investment.”
