Washington, D.C. – September 19, 2024 – WestExec Advisors today announced that former Deputy National Security Advisor Dr. J.D. Crouch II has joined the firm as a Principal. A distinguished public servant with decades of experience at the seniormost levels of government, he will advise clients working to address pressing national security concerns and navigate complex geopolitical challenges.
J.D. currently serves as President and CEO of the United Services Organization (USO), the leading non-profit supporting U.S. service members and their families. He previously led QinetiQ North America as CEO, overseeing the company’s 2014 sale. From 2005 to 2007, he held the position of Deputy National Security Advisor to President George W. Bush. Prior, he was U.S. Ambassador to Romania. As Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, from 2001 to 2003, he was the principal policy advisor to the Secretary of Defense on issues including missile defense, nuclear forces, NATO, and Russia policy. In the 1990’s and early 2000’s, J.D. was Associate Professor of Defense and Strategic Studies at Missouri State University. He served at the Department of Defense during the administration of President George H.W. Bush and was an advisor on military issues to Wyoming Senator Malcolm Wallop. He worked on arms control policy and was an advisor on the Nuclear and Space Arms Talks between the United States and the Soviet Union, during the Reagan administration.
