Washington, D.C. – March 25, 2025 – WestExec Advisors, a leading bipartisan strategic and geopolitical risk advisory firm, today announced that Wally Adeyemo, the former U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, has been named a Principal of the firm. A seasoned policymaker with expertise spanning national security, economic policy, and financial regulation, and experience in both the public and private sectors, he will support WestExec’s clients as they navigate the increasingly complex landscape of the global economy.
Wally assumed the role of Deputy Secretary of the Treasury in March of 2021 and played a pivotal role in driving key initiatives of the Biden Administration. As Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer, he led the implementation of the American Rescue Plan, which provided critical federal resources to communities across the United States and contributed to a robust economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. Wally oversaw the government’s use of economic tools in service of protecting U.S. national security, including financial sanctions and the work of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. And he managed Treasury’s implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, a landmark investment in the U.S. economy that advanced domestic energy security, lowered prescription drug prices, and improved government finances.
Prior to serving as the 15th Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Wally served as Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Fink and as a Senior Advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Earlier in his career, he held a range of senior leadership roles in the White House, including Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economics on the National Security Council and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council. In the latter capacity, he represented the President at the G7 and G20 summits. Alongside his professional achievements, Wally has long been an advocate for American competitiveness and the promotion of economic opportunity as a member of the Aspen Strategy Group and a range of other non-profit boards.
“With diverse experience spanning public service and the private sector, Wally possesses a keen understanding of both the opportunities and challenges facing business leaders,” said WestExec Co-Founder and Managing Partner Nitin K. Chadda. He continued, “His deep expertise in economic & trade policy, national security, and the global investment ecosystem will be invaluable as we continue to support our growing client base in navigating the evolving complexities of the business environment at home and overseas.”
