Washington, DC – WestExec Advisors is pleased to announce General Vincent “Vince” Brooks, USA (Ret.) and Ambassador Dana Shell Smith have joined its distinguished team of principals and senior advisors.
General Brooks retired from active duty in January 2019 as the four-star general in command of U.S. Forces Korea. In this position, he concurrently commanded United Nations Command as well as the Republic of Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command, which included over 650,000 Koreans and Americans under arms. Previously, as Commanding General of the U.S. Army Pacific, Vince strengthened the U.S. Army’s engagement in the Asia Pacific by envisioning and executing the Pacific Pathways program. A 1980 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Vince is the first African American to have been chosen for the paramount position of cadet brigade commander and was the first cadet to lead the student body when women were in all four classes. His proven record as a leader and change agent and his deep expertise on Asia and national security is proving to be extremely valuable to a variety of WestExec clients.
“We couldn’t be more proud to have Vince join our team. His unparalleled leadership and deep experience will provide our clients the nuanced, practical, and unparalleled strategic advice we aim to provide,” said Michèle Flournoy, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of WestExec Advisors.
Ambassador Smith previously served as U.S. Ambassador to Qatar, where she advocated for increased business ties between the two countries and successfully negotiated base access for the international coalition fighting ISIS. With a career spanning seven different Secretaries of State, Dana has served as a spokesperson and public affairs officer in embassies around the world. While primarily focused on the Middle East, Dana has extensive experience in all aspects of foreign service, including strategic communications, global media relations, and crisis communications. WestExec clients are already benefitting from her experience in regional dynamics and international communications, and the firm looks forward to leveraging her expertise to solve our client’s most pressing challenges.
“Dana is already bringing to bear the richness of her extensive global relationships, deep regional network and expertise in commercial diplomacy for our clients. We’re thrilled to have her as a part of our team,” said Nitin Chadda, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of WestExec Advisors.
