Jonathan Elkind

Jonathan Elkind is a specialist focusing on the policies, technologies, and markets that are driving the global clean energy transition. He is a senior research scholar at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy and an adjunct professor at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs. From 2009 to 2017, he worked at the U.S. Department of Energy, his last position being Assistant Secretary for International Affairs. Earlier in his career, he created Eastlink Consulting, advising major corporate players on large infrastructure projects. He also worked at the Brookings Institution, the Joint Global Change Research Institute, the U.S. National Security Council, the Office of the Vice President of the United States, and the Council on Environmental Quality. He serves as a director for Infineon Technologies LLC.

Jon holds an MBA from the University of Maryland, an MA from Columbia University, and an AB from the University of Michigan.
