Former Chief of Staff to the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Former Director, National Security Council

Sergio Aguirre has a wide variety of experience in the national security arena, including serving at the Department of State as Chief of Staff to the US Ambassador to the United Nations, working as Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Senator Tim Kaine in the United States Senate, serving on the National Security Council Staff at the White House as a Director for the Middle East and North Africa, as well as working at the Department of Defense on Middle East issues and as a Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.

Sergio has also worked for PhRMA as an Associate Vice President for International Advocacy.

In 2015, Sergio was named one of the top 40 under 40 Latinos in foreign policy.

Sergio entered government service as a Presidential Management Fellow, and holds a BS and MS from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
